"The Payson Public Library is
concerned for the safety and well-being of children left unattended in
the Library. We urge parents to remember that the Library is a public
building, and it is not in the child's best interest to be left
unattended. The Library has implemented a safety
policy for all children visiting the Library -- we highly recommend that
parents & guardians familiarize themselves with this policy -- to review
this information, please visit our "Policies
& Procedures" page and click-on CHILD PROTECTIVE
POLICY. |

Reading is
FUNdamental...
and our goal at the Payson
Public Library is to offer community children a variety of reading
programs and activities that are educational, interactive and fun!
In addition to our weekly
"Children's Story Time", we schedule many other activities
throughout the year designed especially for children. Visit this
page often for upcoming events and activities. |
|
These programs are free and all
children are welcome. The Library's
programs and services are intended to be
accessible to people with disabilities, so please
let us know if you require assistance.

Cat-in-the Hat:
This event is scheduled
every year in celebration of "Dr. Seuss' Birthday". This special
evening includes stories, activities, prize giveaways & hats for
every child! Dinner is also provided -- we may not be
serving "Green Eggs and Ham"
but, not to worry & not to holler...
a Hot Dog,
Chips, Punch & a Cookie are
only a dollar! |

Popcorn
& a Movie:
This activity is
normally scheduled during the Winter Holiday School Break. The
movies are generally rated G and are appropriate for ages 3-18.
The Library provides the Popcorn. Parents are
responsible for judging the suitability of the movie selection for
their child/children. |

Princess
For A Day Tea Party: This program is
designed especially for girls. The girls
will be
able to “dress-up” with fancy hats,
sparkling jewelry (party dresses are optional, but
delightful). Of course, tea and special
treats will be served and there will also be a fashion runway, games & prizes for everyone!
In-as-much as this event
was completely filled up the first week of sign-up -- the
girls will be happy to know that we are now planning on
holding two separate Tea Parties ~ one for girls ages
4 to 7 and one for girls ages 8 to 12.

A REMINDER NOTE FOR
CHILDREN & PARENTS: The Internet and the world
wide web contain many different kinds of materials, and links can
sometimes lead you in
unexpected directions. You need to be aware of
what is on the Internet for your own protection. Kids'
Rules for Online Safety is a good place to start
in becoming aware of how you should surf the net.
The Payson Public Library can't control where you go,
but we do want you to have a safe trip. Have fun
and let us know what you think!
